GRIIDC is looking for a new Research Specialist to join the team!

GRIIDC is organizing and documenting data to promote a culture of open data and open science in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information & Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) is a team of scientific researchers, data specialists, and software developers building a data management system to store, share, and archive scientific data generated by Gulf of Mexico researchers.

The Research Specialist, under general supervision, will review, organize, and document scientific datasets submitted to the GRIIDC data management system. Working with data managers and Gulf of Mexico scientists, the Research Specialist will ensure data are shared in appropriate formats with required documentation. The Research Specialist will be responsible for transforming and organizing data for submission to NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) archive system, and other national archives when appropriate.

GRIIDC is based out of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
