The GRIIDC System is Up and Running!

Last Wednesday, August 23 2017, the GRIIDC team implemented our Hurricane Response Plan due to the threat from Hurricane Harvey. The plan included two phases:

  1. Put our website into read-only mode.

  2. Use our mirror server housed at Texas A&M University-College Station.

Thanks to the hard work of GRIIDC Software Engineer Michael Williamson, the GRIIDC development team, and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Information Technology we were able to implement our plan successfully.

One week later on August 30, 2017 the GRIIDC team was back in the office, and the GRIIDC system is now fully online and operational. In addition to being able to search for and download data, users can once again submit Dataset Information Forms (DIFs) and datasets to the GRIIDC system.

Although our Hurricane Response Plan was implemented successfully, we will be reviewing the plan to identify improvements. Please email Sandra.Ellis@tamucc.edu with feedback to help us evaluate and improve our processes.

We would like to thank everyone for being patient with us and for the outpouring of support and concern from the GoMRI family. Our thoughts are with those in Port Aransas, Rockport, Victoria, Houston, Louisiana, and surrounding areas who continue to deal with the impacts of the hurricane.
