GRIIDC Hosts Data Management Training Workshops at GoMOSES 2018

GRIIDC will participate in the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference (GoMOSES) in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 5-8th, 2018.

GRIIDC will host a training workshop on Monday, Feb. 5, that will encompass three required training sessions for GoMRI researchers: (1) Introduction to the GoMRI Data Management Program; (2) Organizing Data - Best Practices and GRIIDC Submission; and (3) How to Submit Data to GRIIDC. These three training sessions are required for GoMRI RFP-VI Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators, and Data Managers. The combined training sessions will comprise Part 1 of the Monday workshop from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Part 2 of the workshop, scheduled for 10:45 a.m. to noon will provide more in-depth training and guidance on data management planning, data management, and organization best practices based on participants’ interest. This may include a walk-through of the dataset information form (DIF) and data management in Excel.

Training sessions will be offered again during breaks in scientific sessions. All GRIIDC workshops will be held in Imperial 12 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. See below for specific sessions and times:

GRIIDC will also have an exhibit booth in Storyville Hall for the duration of the conference. Researchers will be able to ask questions about data submission, data organization, data management plans, or anything else data-related. Please stop by and say hello.
